Enhancing Competitiveness in North Macedonia: A Cultural Heritage and Innovation Support Program (CIIP) North Macedonia

Under a Multi-donor Trust Fund (MDTF) grant of the World Bank, a comprehensive tourism assessment was conducted to identify policy reforms that could increase the competitiveness of tourism in North Macedonia.  

Activities & Services:

• Conducted a comprehensive assessment of tourism in North Macedonia. 
• Advised the World Bank team on private sector engagement, prioritizing private investment project opportunities and creating spaces for public-private dialogue.
• Advised on the creation of a Destination Management Organizations in Lake Ohrid 
• Wine tourism destination development.  
• Advised on capacity building with the Tourism Chamber and Council representatives.
• Provided an action plan for product improvement opportunities, a tourism portal and related marketing strategy, human resource development.
