Georgia: World Bank Development of National Tourism Strategy Georgia (Republic)


Scott Wayne was commissioned by the World Bank to advise the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) on advancing and improving their national integrated sustainable tourism development strategy. 

Activities & Services:

1) Established a process, including a framework and methodology, with the Georgia National Tourism Administration and Advisory Board to launch the development of a new tourism strategy.

2)  Reviewed, critiqued and revised Terms of Reference for Kakheti, which would assist with the establishment of similar activities at the national level and in Imereti.

3) Conducted a series of stakeholder meetings to test ideas and initial work plan for the strategy development process.

4) Advised on the development of an investment authority for Tskaltubo is being pursued following this mission after a review of the structure of a similar authority in Borjomi.
